Being the most important part of the music making, it needs to take time and get the attention it deserves. Try to make sure there's the less echo possible picked up by the mic.
There are few ways to do that:
- get away from the corners and walls: as it tend to reverb more sound then other parts of the room.
- if it possible hang a few blankets, towels anything behind you. make sure it's not directly hooked to the wall instead put it at a fare distance from the wall as you stand in between the mic and the blankets.
- pop filters man you really need them .
